Head of New Building / Project Manager

With increasing sales and volume of assignments, we at Westing now need to strengthen our team within newbuilding and project management. Therefore, we are looking for someone with experience from the shipbuilding industry or shipping company and preferably within newbuilding projects . It is desirable to have a geographical connection to Fosnavåg/Hareid or Bergen , but we are also open to the ideal candidate being based elsewhere in the country.  

 
Your responsibilities: 

  • Specification and optimization of paint specifications for new construction and major maintenance projects .
  • Lead projects from drawing board to finished vessel.
  • General follow - up of projects within our business areas . 
  • Opportunity to participate in product development internally and externally to find the absolute best solutions for our customers.
  • Close follow-up with the customer's project group  

 

Your background and qualifications: 

  • Experience with new boat construction through a shipyard or shipping company.
  • Experience with project management and/ or more practical experience within the maritime industry  
  • Technical expertise in the maritime industry and FROSIO certification is an advantage
  • Good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian and English
  • Similar experience from the offshore industry is also encouraged to apply.

About Westing

The company was established in 1981 and is located with a warehouse and head office at Eggesbønes in Herøy municipality. During 2025, Westing will move its head office to Hareid. Westing has sales representatives and inspectors along the entire coast. The company has a partnership agreement with AkzoNobel for International® Marine Paints in Norway and Denmark, and has in recent years grown to become AkzoNobel's largest distributor of paints in Europe.
