We are looking for a Technical Supervisor
Westing is looking for a Technical Supervisor to serve as a central technical and commercial support resource for both customers and our sales organization.
The role combines technical consulting, inspection, and quality assurance with active participation in customer and sales work. You will play a key role in ensuring technically correct solutions, high quality in deliveries – and contributing to strengthening market relationships.
The position covers a wide range of areas within paint, deck coatings, surface and corrosion protection, and is suitable for those who wish to apply their professional expertise closely to both customers and projects. The role is based at our head office in Hareid, involves some travel, and reports to the Head of Sales.
Your responsibilities and tasks:
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and technical assessments at customer sites and on projects
- Develop and quality assure paint specifications (system selection, surface preparation, application, and control)
- Plan and execute inspection, testing, and final controls in accordance with relevant standards
- Provide technical advice to customers and internal resources
- Prepare technical documentation, inspection reports, and decision-making basis
- Participate in customer meetings with Sales Managers and actively contribute to sales processes
- Assist in bid preparation with technical clarifications and solution proposals
- Follow up on technical aspects of deliveries and contribute to successful execution and quality
Your background and qualifications:
- FROSIO certification
- Solid expertise in paint, surface, and corrosion protection
- Experience with inspection and quality assurance of maritime and industrial paint systems
- Experience from shipyards, maritime industry, offshore, rig, or similar is an advantage
- Good digital skills and interest in efficient work tools
- Good written and oral communication skills in Norwegian and English
