Westing provides complete On-Board Maintenance Plans (OBM plans) that serve as a practical and detailed working tool for full control of all paint and surface treatment on board. The plan is designed to ensure the right maintenance at the right time, reduce costs and extend the life of the vessel’s structures and surfaces.

In our work, we emphasize creating systems that are clear and easy to use in practice. Part of this is about limiting complexity where possible – and in many cases it turns out that the key often lies in using fewer, but well-adapted products. When the OBM plan is based on solutions that are largely universal and standardized, it provides a more agile and predictable implementation, while at the same time the system becomes more robust in daily operations.

The OBM plan provides precise recommendations area by area, including which paint systems should be used, relevant product codes for base and hardener, colours and RAL codes, required dry film thickness (DFT) and the right type of thinner. The simple and well thought out structure makes it easy for the crew to perform the maintenance correctly – every time.

The plan covers all relevant areas on board, such as underwater hull, ship sides, decks, superstructures, tanks, engine rooms, technical rooms and process areas. The result is a comprehensive and user-friendly tool that provides better control, more efficient operation and consistent quality of maintenance work.
