What is technical consulting?
Technical consulting from Westing provides professional support from our experts. This may apply to a specific project or as independent assistance. We help with assessments, practical advice, and clarifications related to surface treatment and coating systems. Inspections and recommendations are based on current international standards and industry requirements. The goal is to give you confidence, insight, and a solid basis for decision‑making. We do not assume responsibility for execution, quality control, or the outcome of the work.

What does an inspection involve?

An inspection from Westing provides an independent assessment of the quality of surface treatment. Depending on the agreement, the inspection may include:

  • Visual examination of the surface treatment
  • Comparison against specifications and relevant standards
  • Documentation of observed conditions
  • Recording and reporting of any deviations
  • Measurement of technical parameters

The inspection is carried out in accordance with the agreed mandate. Our responsibility is limited to performing the inspection correctly and reporting findings accurately.

An inspection does not include:

  • Execution of workProduction management or follow‑up
  • Responsibility for the quality of the completed work
  • Correction of deviations
  • Guarantee of future performance
  • Responsibility for third‑party work or materials

Responsibility for the work and quality control lies with the executing party unless explicitly agreed otherwise. Westing assumes no responsibility for the execution or the result of the surface treatment.
If agreed, we prepare a report describing what has been inspected, observations, any deviations, and recommendations. The report represents an independent assessment at the time of inspection and does not replace ongoing quality control by the executing party. For smaller inspections, the result may be provided as a simple confirmation that conditions have been checked in accordance with the agreement.
